Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") set out the basis on which JH Roofing (Southeast) Ltd ("we", "our", or "us") provides roofing and associated services to you ("the customer", "you"). By requesting a quote, accepting a quotation, or instructing us to carry out work, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us

Business name: JH Roofing (Southeast) Ltd
Email: info@jhroof.co.uk
Phone: 07435 574 755
Website: jhroof.co.uk
Service area: Ashford, Folkestone, Canterbury, Maidstone and the surrounding areas of Kent.

2. Quotations and Estimates

Any figure provided through our online roof quote calculator, verbally, or in early discussions is an indicative estimate only and does not constitute a formal quotation or contract. A binding price is only provided in a written quotation following a survey or assessment of the work.

Unless stated otherwise, written quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Quotations are based on the information available at the time and on the assumption that the roof structure and any hidden elements are in the condition reasonably expected.

3. Acceptance and Contract

A contract is formed when you accept our written quotation in writing (including by email or text message) or confirm in writing that we should proceed with the work. At that point these Terms, together with the quotation, form the agreement between us.

4. Pricing and Payment

The price for the work is set out in your written quotation. Unless stated otherwise, prices include the supply of materials and labour described in the quotation. Where a deposit is required to secure materials or a start date, this will be stated in your quotation and is payable before work begins.

Final payment is due on completion of the work unless alternative payment terms have been agreed in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer and other methods stated on your invoice. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.

5. Additional Work and Variations

Roofing work can reveal issues that were not visible during the initial survey, such as rotten timbers, defective structure or previous poor workmanship. Where additional work is needed that was not included in the original quotation, we will discuss this with you and provide a revised price before carrying out that additional work wherever reasonably possible. Any agreed variation will be charged in addition to the original quotation.

6. Scheduling and Access

We will agree a start date with you and make reasonable efforts to keep to it. Start dates and timescales are estimates and may be affected by weather, material availability or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, particularly given the nature of roofing work.

You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property and roof area, including for scaffolding where required. You are responsible for informing us of any hazards, restrictions, or shared boundaries relevant to the work.

7. Materials and Workmanship

All work is carried out to a professional standard using suitable, good-quality materials. Where an exact match of existing tiles, slates or materials is not available, we will use the closest suitable alternative and will advise you where this is likely to be visible. Natural products such as slate and clay tiles may vary in colour and finish.

8. Guarantees and Workmanship Warranty

Details of any workmanship guarantee that applies to your project will be set out in your quotation or provided on completion. Guarantees cover our workmanship and do not cover damage caused by extreme weather, structural movement, third-party interference, lack of maintenance, or fair wear and tear. Manufacturer guarantees on materials are provided in addition and are subject to the manufacturer's own terms.

9. Cancellation

If you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our business premises, you may have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you have asked us to begin work within that period, you may be charged for work carried out up to the point of cancellation. If we need to cancel or reschedule due to weather or other factors, we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange an alternative.

10. Insurance and Liability

JH Roofing (Southeast) Ltd holds insurance appropriate to the roofing work we carry out. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any project is limited to the value of the contract for that project. We are not liable for pre-existing defects or for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable.

11. Complaints

We take pride in our work and want you to be happy with it. If something is not right, please contact us as soon as possible at info@jhroof.co.uk or on 07435 574 755 so we can put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and work with you to resolve it fairly.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your project is the version in force at the date your quotation is issued.
