Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This policy explains how JH Roofing (Southeast) Ltd ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on jhroof.co.uk, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things — such as a choice you have made — and help us understand how the site is being used. We also use similar technologies such as tracking pixels and browser storage. Where this policy says "cookies", it means all of these.

2. Your choice

When you first visit our site we ask whether you are happy for us to use non-essential cookies. Nothing other than strictly necessary cookies is set until you agree. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy — both are a single click, given equal prominence.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings button, which stays available on every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and when you withdraw it we delete the cookies concerned from your device.

3. The cookies we use

Strictly necessary — always on

These make the website work and remember your privacy choice. They cannot be switched off and, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, they do not require your consent.

Analytics — only with your consent

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people use, which pages are not working well, how people find us and how they move through the site. Because this information is shared with Google, it needs your consent.

Advertising — only with your consent

We advertise on Google. These cookies let us see whether an advert led to an enquiry, and avoid showing the same advert to people who have already been in touch. Without them we cannot tell which adverts are working, and we end up paying for advertising that does not reach the right people.

4. What happens if you say no

The site works exactly the same. We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google's tags are told, before they load, that they may not read or write cookies and may not use your data for advertising. Nothing is set on your device, and any measurement Google receives is limited and anonymous.

5. Third parties and transfers outside the UK

The analytics and advertising cookies above are set by Google. Where consent is given, data may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in Google's own privacy terms. We do not sell your data, and we do not allow it to be used for any purpose other than measuring and improving our own website and advertising.

6. How long we keep your choice

Your choice is stored on your device for six months, after which we will ask again. We store the choice itself, the date and time you made it, and whether you accepted all, rejected all, or chose individually. This is kept so that we can show, if asked, that consent was properly obtained.

7. Other technologies we use

When you send us an enquiry, your browser briefly holds the details of that enquiry in its own memory (session storage) so that the confirmation page knows the enquiry was genuine. This is cleared as soon as the confirmation page loads, and is never shared with anyone. Where you have given advertising consent, the same mechanism carries your contact details to Google in a securely hashed form, so that Google can match your enquiry to the advert you clicked. Without advertising consent, no personal detail is stored or sent.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

As well as our Cookie settings button, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. You will find these controls in the privacy or security section of your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of some websites working properly, though it will not stop this site working.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the cookies we use change. Microsoft Clarity, a session-recording tool used on our previous website, was removed on 18 August 2026 and is no longer in use. Any cookies it left on your device (_clck, _clsk) are deleted when you withdraw analytics consent.

10. Contact and complaints

If you have any questions about this policy, or want to exercise any of your data protection rights, contact us at info@jhroof.co.uk or call 07435 574 755.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
